★★★★☆ 7.8 / 10

From is a horror series that combines the mystery of Lost with the terror of a nightmare you can't escape. The show is set in a mysterious town where people arrive and can never leave. By day, it seems like an ordinary small town. By night, creatures emerge from the surrounding forest — beings that look human but are not, and who will do anything to get inside your home.

The premise is simple but effective. The town has rules: never go out at night, never let the creatures in, and never stop looking for a way out. The series explores what happens to a community trapped in an impossible situation, where hope fades with each passing day.

The creature design is genuinely disturbing. The monsters appear as friendly, smiling people who walk slowly toward their victims, speaking in normal voices, trying to trick them into opening the door. When they stop pretending, the transformation is horrifying. This combination of false familiarity and sudden violence is more effective than any monster suit could be.

The ensemble cast handles the material well. Harold Perrineau leads as Boyd Stevens, the town's sheriff, a man trying to maintain order in a place that makes order impossible. The various townspeople represent different responses to trauma — hope, despair, denial, madness. The mysteries of the town, including the talismans that protect homes and the strange occurrences in the forest, create compelling questions.

From is essential for horror fans who enjoy mystery-driven storytelling. It's a show about the monsters outside the door and the ones we carry inside.
